Tardevil at http://confessionsofa40-somethingmamaqueen.blogspot.com/ has put out a challenge to stimulate the economy by thrifty shopping at garage sales, estate sales or thrift stores...so here are my bargains:
Okay, so they look a little cluttered here so I'll show you each one separately...
For $3 I couldn't resist this footed vanity mirror and accessories...of course I'll never use them, but after shining them up I think they'll look great.
So for $1 I got these 2 brand new stainless bowls ...

For $1.50, I couldn't pass up this new round woven tray with pretty embossed metal edging
*
And how about these 2 Pyrex dishes...the one on top is 9X12 and the other is 10X15 I got both for $2
*
Oh, I love this $2 white embossed 14X18 platter
*
This lead crystal candy dish was $4 and is so much prettier in real life...

And now for my deal of the day...this BRAND NEW coat for $15...it shows a tag of 100% wool on the sleeve...the lady I bought it from said she paid $150 for it and never got around to wearing it....I had to photograph it outside because it is truly blaack but indoors it showed navy...

WOW...you and hubby made out like bandits!!!
I love the bowl with the roses around the edge, as well as most all of the glassware!!!
Tom and I didn't fare very well at the "sales" today. I don't think our hearts were truly in it. We went to a upholstery fabric shop, looking for fabric to cover the seats of my 9 old, but new to us, dining room chairs, that go with our again old, but new to us, drop leaf dining room table. You know, everyone needs 2 dining room sets!! LOL!!! I've become a CHAIR and LAMP-aholic!! LOL!!!
We did pick up a couple of little items, but I didn't have time to photo them yet. So much to do, so little time ~ can't even do PINK Saturday anymore ~ or at least for a while. We're gone too much over the weekend...or just too busy to stop and visit all the nice people that come and leave comments on our blog!!!
~Blessings,
Jan
Wowee! That coat is georgous! And you know what? I love your house brick too! I love yard sales and my husband hates it. He is no fun at all. LOL
Wowza you sure know how to get a bargain! You made out like a bandit! I thought I got a good deal when I went shopping this week! You win hands down (lol) I got 3 1/2 yards of fabric, a remnant piece, a large framed mirror, and a large sailboat and I spent..$67.00 and I thought I got a heck of a deal since the mirror was originally $120 and I only paid $24, the sail boat was only $30 marked down half of the original price, and the fabric was $13.00! I thought I did pretty good! French;)
HOLY MOLEY...I think that was highway robbery!! $15 for that beautiful coat is such a steal. And you got so much other good stuff!!!
Dang, I need to go shopping w/ Bo. OK, can you hear TARDEVIL clapping for you all the way from NC to TX? Awesome job! I can feel our economy doing better already. (WINKS!)I need to go yard selling with you!!! I only found 2 things today (boo, hiss), and one of them chipped when I washed it. GG came home w/ some artwork that of course I'm going to have to DONATE...he meant well. I'll give him an A for effort, but I still haven't figured out why he paid a $1 for a skull, last week. Hmmmm. He & sweet baby think that's just the greatest thing since sliced bread...especially when they light it up. I love those trays & that crystal is pretty too. Awesome deal on that coat. I'm thinking ya'll have nicer stuff in TX.
Wow, I like your bargains...you hit the Mother Lode in thrifting shopping...course I love all kinds of glassware so the ones you captured really caught my eye.
My husband and I hit a few sales today..but didn't find really much of anything that was spectacular. But there is always another time.
Enjoy your treasures and be sure to show us how you mixed them in with your existing items...we want to see a new look for these old items.
What great treasures... where do you ever keep it all? I love everything you got... I love deals like that but since moving into the MH if I buy something... something has to go... LOL LOL I have a crystal candy dish just like that... I think I got it from one of those Crystal Parties they use to have and I sure paid a lot more then 4 bucks... Good deal... If I lived by you I'd be jumping in the car and goin with you...
Hugs,
Donna

Wow Bo you got some wonderful items there at your garage sales. Don't you just love it when we "hit" those good garage sale days? It makes all the bad garage sale ones disappear. Love the dresser set. Very lady-like and victorian.
Blessings,
Sher
haha Bo Bandit, I am coming with you next time, I adore that candy jar, hugs, Kathy
I loved all of your things you found. My favorite was the silver tray for the bedroom. I wish I could get my hubby to go garage selling with me, but he doesn't like to do that.I'm going to make him look at that tote, since he is a nut about having totes in every size.LOL
Hugs,
Chris
You got A LOT for your money. Love everything. I didn't know they made a 10x15 dish. Your hubby did a good job too. Bargains are so much fun.
Wow...you did great! Love the trays and the dresser set.
It is always fun, and you helped put some cash into someone's pocket! That's a good thing.

Hi Bo, I just looked at your garage sale bargains, what a haul. I would say you 'done good girl' and I especially think the coat is gorgeous. I have some thrift store purchases to share on Tues. These purchases are also going to be a craft to share. I think you will like it.
Hugs...Jeanne
Wow! You got some great stuff! I would have snatched it all up too! Kristen
Bo, You really had a great day. Everything is lovely. I especially like the vanity mirror and accessories. I had my grandmother's vanity mirror and it was accidentally broken. The lead crystal candy dish and footed bowl are gorgeous also. The coat is an absolute bargain. It's stylish and warm. You'll be needing it soon!!
Also, your dining room is beautiful.
Love,
Sweetie
Bo,
I am so glad that you & your Hubby enjoyed the Greens. Smoked Turkey gives the greens such a wonderful flavor! I also use Smoked Turkey for my stringbeans! :) Share a few of your recipes... I will be posting my Sweet Potatoe Cheesecake soon. It's simple and tasty!!! (YUM) I made a Lasagna today with Ground Beef & Turkey mixed.. then I layered Spinach in between the layers... It was soooo good! ;)

Good morning Bo. I must be feeling better getting up this early. lol Have a great day my friend.
Hugs...Jeanne
Hi Bo! Great deals everything is great! I would have chosen the same things. I been looking for a vanity set. The other day I'd posted some pictures, and the blogger wouldn't let me save them it kept giving me an error message and the save box was shaded grey. So I published them to keep from having to do them all over again. Then I took them back to a draft. That's why it showed I had a post but when you check there wasn't one. I've been out a lot lately that's why I haven't been around. Deb
Wow, I think you got some great things! I love the vanity set!
For some reason some of your text isn't showing up...not sure if it's my computer, or blogger????
