After much debate & a little heartbreak, I have decided to take a leave of absence from my blog. It has been a WONDERFUL experience visiting with all of you!!!

My plans now are to return this fall...I hope you will all be here when I come back.

SHORT...BUT NOT SO SWEET POST!

I'm baaaack..............

and I feel like bawling!!!!

We rode this fun cog railway in Manitou Springs our first morning in beautiful Colorado

*

Here's my grandson Evan at the 14,110' summit of Pike's Peak...

And here I am....I got altitude sickness & couldn't even get off of the train....

*

We moved on to Coloradolady's cabin .... and from there went sightseeing in Breckenridge, Buena Vista, Fairplay/South Park & even went to Cripple Creek...but I was sick all of the time & even Mr. Bo had difficulties (he's on heart meds & blood thinner)...so, reluctantly we headed home Tuesday morning rather than Saturday as planned.

My biggest regret was not getting to meet with sweet Jeanne & Bill from
Backyard Neighbor as we had intended...sigh...maybe another time, another place. I think she was right that we shouldn't have gone to the Peak the first thing....and also, I had been fighting a respiratory thingy a couple of weeks prior to our trip...so...

*

And I'm also heartsick & sad about this....
*
Our beautiful new hardwood floors are buckling where the tape has a bend in it. The installer hung up on Mr. Bo when he called & said it wasn't anything his crew did.... we shall see how this drama plays out....
I'm still here but I may be scarce a bit longer....I'll try to come by to visit though...

in Hartsel, Colorado due to the generous giveaway from Steve & Suzanne last Christmas.

They are on a 5 week journey & will be going to MELKOSKI MOUNTAIN RETREAT for the week after we leave....we are looking so forward to meeting her & her hubby!

~FLOORS---CHORES---&---MORE~

Yoo-hoo...I'm back....and just in time to join our sweet, dear Susan @ http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ for my first & the 18th Metamorphosis Monday!

I think my little saga will qualify....of course, there will be oodles of others participating, so you'll want to check them out by going to Susan's beautiful blog....Thanks Susan for hosting this fun event!

Whew...I have been as frazzled....

as this poor old woman looks!*

But now I'm about as happy as a pig in the sunshine since I've gotten through the past couple of weeks....

First off, I stopped up the plumbing with SPAGHETTI in the disposal....
and we had to call this guy out with his 70' snake...

*

Then, I broke a tooth and had to visit the tooth fairy (dentist)...


*


And remember this...our Bellawood Brazilian Teak floors we were having installed?
The labor cost was figured at $2.50 a square foot...which included removing the old carpet & installing the floor over a concrete slab.... ~SURPRISE~there were old vinyl tiles under the carpet which added an additional $1.00 per square foot to remove!

Okay, now the prep work began...some kind of "glop" was applied to the floor to seal the concrete..
*
That dark spot you see was how much "glop" they lacked having enough to cover the floor...so another $120 was spent for just that little area....Grrrr....
*
Now it has to dry for 24 hours....
*

Finally the wood is being laid....with hardwood it has to be GLUED down...and yes, we had to have another "dab" of glue to the tune of $80. .... this was all in addition to the $300+ cost of the compounds to begin with...Grrr..

After they glue & pound the wood into place, they tape it and it sits another 24 hours...

Our fur babies are confused by the sound of their little toenails clicking on the floor...

TA...DAH... here is the finished floor...

I absolutely LOVE it...but, oh no...this isn't the end of my saga...

See our chandelier...it looks pretty darn good in this picture, but it didn't really look that good in person...so......

We bought this one in an estate sale...and it looks much better in person...than in this picture!

It is a burnished bronze & weighs a TON....
Alrighty then.... we were expecting 9 people for Mother's Day lunch on Sunday & our AC unit curled up & died Saturday!

God was so good to us...it was in the low 70s & with fans going, it was quite pleasant.

Here's our new 4 ton AC...we increased from a 3 1/2 ton....

and while we were at it....we changed out the heating unit too...
*

So, that's what's been happening in my little world....

I think I need to rest a bit longer...LOL

I couldn't wait to try out the grilling basket...so with some veggies I had on hand, I filled it up....

While Mr. Bo cooked, a visitor came by....the smell was irresistible...

Ummmm, looks like it's ready to eat...I had cooked a brisket in a crockpot all day...so our meal was complete. Thank you so MUCH Becky! I know we'll be enjoying grilling a lot...kabobs are next!

I am still on bloggy break for a little longer...Mr. Bo has been down with pneumonia, we had a plumbing problem (stoppage at 70'), gardening to do & a visit for me to the dentist today....AND....

This will be installed TODAY in our den...Yippee!!!
