Yoo-hoo...I'm back....and just in time to join our sweet, dear Susan @ http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ for my first & the 18th Metamorphosis Monday!
I think my little saga will qualify....of course, there will be oodles of others participating, so you'll want to check them out by going to Susan's beautiful blog....Thanks Susan for hosting this fun event!
*Whew...I have been as frazzled....
as this poor old woman looks!
*
*But now I'm about as happy as a pig in the sunshine since I've gotten through the past couple of weeks....
*
First off, I stopped up the plumbing with SPAGHETTI in the disposal....
and we had to call this guy out with his 70' snake...
*
Then, I broke a tooth and had to visit the tooth fairy (dentist)...
*
And remember this...our Bellawood Brazilian Teak floors we were having installed?
The labor cost was figured at $2.50 a square foot...which included removing the old carpet & installing the floor over a concrete slab.... ~SURPRISE~there were old vinyl tiles under the carpet which added an additional $1.00 per square foot to remove!

Okay, now the prep work began...some kind of "glop" was applied to the floor to seal the concrete..*
That dark spot you see was how much "glop" they lacked having enough to cover the floor...so another $120 was spent for just that little area....Grrrr....*
Now it has to dry for 24 hours....*
Finally the wood is being laid....with hardwood it has to be GLUED down...and yes, we had to have another "dab" of glue to the tune of $80. .... this was all in addition to the $300+ cost of the compounds to begin with...Grrr..*
I don't know why I included this picture???*
After they glue & pound the wood into place, they tape it and it sits another 24 hours...*
Our fur babies are confused by the sound of their little toenails clicking on the floor...*
TA...DAH... here is the finished floor...*
I absolutely LOVE it...but, oh no...this isn't the end of my saga...*
See our chandelier...it looks pretty darn good in this picture, but it didn't really look that good in person...so......*
We bought this one in an estate sale...and it looks much better in person...than in this picture!*
*
It is a burnished bronze & weighs a TON....Alrighty then.... we were expecting 9 people for Mother's Day lunch on Sunday & our AC unit curled up & died Saturday!
God was so good to us...it was in the low 70s & with fans going, it was quite pleasant.
*
Here's our new 4 ton AC...we increased from a 3 1/2 ton....*
So, that's what's been happening in my little world....
I think I need to rest a bit longer...LOL
*
Thanks for all of your thoughts & comments while I've been on break...you are the sweetest, kindest bloggers in the world...I LOVE YOU ALL!

Hi Bo,
Your new floors are beautiful. Glad to see you post!
Bo I'm so glad you are back! I have to tell you that two years ago we took up the carpet in the bedrooms and completed the whole house in wood....so there goes thousands of dollars. A few months later, yes on a very hot humid day, our ac went out. My husband was home when the repair people came and told us that it could not be fixed. We had to replace the whole thing heat/ac also. I will never get over the shock of that one. Our house was only 7 years old!!
Anyway, I'm rambling. Your floor is absolutely gorgeous. Don't you think it makes everything feel cleaner and bigger? I do!
Hi Bo!!! I have missed you!! I'm glad you are back!! Wow! That's quite a saga! You needed your break...but I'm not sure you actually got a break!! lol I love those floors!! I want hardwoods. You'll have to keep me posted on how they wear with the doggies. I love your new chandelier! Sorry about all the problems! When it rains, it pours, huh?? I hope you have a great week...hugs...Debbie
Wow, those floors are beautiful ! I would like to have wood in my whole house because the look is so clean ! Love the new chandy too !
Hugs ~ Kammy
Wow, I got tired just hearing all about it, but I absolutely LOVE your new floors. I want some like it so bad!!!! They really are gorgeous. Your new chandelier is just beautiful, and oh yeah, the heater and ac are wonderful too. I hate to spend money on those things, but I sure do like for them to work. Great job. Hugs, Marty
Hi Bo!
Your floor is amazing. So pretty! I bet you are enjoying it...
So, what have you been doing in your spare time??? :)
Those floors are gorgeous!
Must agree the floors are so pretty. I did not realize there were this many steps involved in such a procedure.
I bet you are thinking just so many major expenses at one time is more than this old gal can handle. Perhaps, you need to just rest and put your feet up...and be pampered.
Glad you are back to blogging...you have been missed.
Bo, I am so.. glad you are back. I missed you! Your flooring and new lighting are both beautiful. Sorry, you ran into so many opticals. But, I am sure it was worth it. Now, you shouldn't have to worry about your heat/ac for a longtime. When it rains it does pour. I'd say you're doing your part to help the economy.
Hugs, Terrie
You must have had my contractors with all those additions to the cost. It looks wonderful and I bet you and the dogs are all happy. I love a new wood floor to update the look of a home. Your new fixture is gorgeous.
Joyce
Oh my Bo! Sorry for all your woes. They always happen in threes, or fours, or...etc.
Those floors are beautimous!!! I giggled at the pic of your furr babies and the image of their little clicky nails on the new floor. Too sweet.
Hope you have no more mishaps any time soon.
Blessings, Barb
Welcome back!! You have been a busy girl! You're new floor is gorgeous!
Hugs,
Carol
Yeah! Bo is back!
I've mised you girl.
Look a the pretty new things you have done to your home. LOVE the new floors. How pretty!
Is that LIL' BEAR? I thought he was Black and White? Do you still have him.
Your new light is perfect as well. It's gorgeous.
We just had to fix our A/C unit twice in the past month. GRRR... This last time they had to order a part which took a full week. Oh my gosh was it hot too..Ugh!
Have a wonderful evening.
~Melissa :)
Hi Bo,
Glad your back and what a cute post! I loved it and the floor looks wonderful, despite all the hassles. Don't you know, when it rains, it pours. Cindy
Hey, Bo! So glad you're back and look at what you got accomplished! I had the plumber out, and it was $94 to be here all of about 15 minutes if that. I love the floors. I thought you no longer had to glue down hardwood. So it has to be glued? I was thinking of installing what is referred to as "click" by a friend of mine, and I thought they just snapped together and presto... new floor! But after seeing this, I'm not so sure. Didn't realize it required glue and all of the prep.
That would up the price considerably. I thought about takling out the carpet myself which I have done before.
Great to see you! I'm not back regularly yet, but I hope to be in a week or so.
XO,
Sheila :-)
Welcome back and I love your new blog look and the new flooring! You've been a very busy girl. I hope things have settled down for you.
Visiting from Susan's Met Monday blog party...
You've had an action-packed week!! I don't blame you for being as frazzled as the poor old woman in the first picture you posted!!
Your hardwood floors look fantastic. Bummer about having to spend $120 on more glop for that little area. But the final result is worth the extra cost, yes?? :-)
Kelly @ DesignTies
Hey there Miss Bo, I have missed you, but look how much you got done, I LOVE your new floors, gorgeous and the chandy, your first photos of the old lady and the plummer are hilarious hehe, so glad you are back my friend you make me giggle so much, hugs, Kathy.

Hey Bo, it's great to see you back. What a few weeks you've had--oh my! Your floors look absolutely lovely. What a process to get them put down--don't those extra unseen expenses just make you fume? But you have to get past that and just enjoy the beautiful end product. Funny about the dogs clicking their nails on the wood. I imagine that would be confusing for them!
Welcome back Bo! You certainly have had a crazy several weeks - not much of a break from the sounds of it. I love your new floors! They are just beautiful. Sorry about the AC unit, glad that the weather wasn't unbearable that weekend. It does seem like it's always something, doesn't it? Hopefully things will calm down some now and you can enjoy your "new" room. Hugs, Kathy
Wow, Bo!!!!! What a Metamorphosis Monday story!

Love, love, love your new floors. They are gorgeous. And, your chandelier is just what I've been looking for. I've been on the hunt for a new one for a while now.
And, thank goodness you are a million times cuter than that lady in the picture. Poor old thing that she is.
Hi Bo.....I am so happy you are back. So good to see ya.
Your new floor is gorgeous and I love your funny pictures.
Hugs, Barb

Wow, that's a lot of change! You do need a rest. Looks great.
SHE'S BAAAAAAAACK!! And with a fun post! If I have to go to the dentist, I wanna go to the tooth fairy dentist! Such witty pictures you posted. The new floor is gorgeous! The puppies look so pretty on it! I remember when I had to dog-sit my daughter's lab, and when he hit the hardwood floor, he went sliding! After that, he wouldn't leave the tiled kitchen. You've sure proven the old saying "when it rains, it pours". Surely there is nothing left to break down! So happy to see you back in Blogville. laurie
Bo...I was sooo surprised to see your sweet name. I've thought about you a half dozen times over the last week and kept thinking how I needed to come see what you were up to. WOW, have you been busy!!! I LOVE your new floors! They were soooo worth all that work and aggravation...they are gorgeous!!! I'm so glad your Mother's Day didn't get ruined with the AC quitting on you. I love your new chandelier...it is stunning! I just can't believe all that you've gotten done...bet you are big time ready for a rest. Just sit back in that nice cool air conditioning and play with your sweet doggies on your spanking new gorgeous hard wood floors! :-) Happy Met Monday! Susan
Bo, I am so envious of those gorgeous floors! I'll have to check out that brand that 'outlasts other leading brands'! With 7...soon to be 8...grandsons, I was a little hesitant about putting in hardwood floors. Yours is just beautiful! I love the light fixture, too!
Sorry to hear about all your misfortune. But I had to laugh while reading about your tales of woe. Too funny. But your floors turned out fabulous!!! And now you will have nice cold air for the summer. So see, it was all worth it!!!
Oh BO, your new floor is just beautiful my friend...how long did it take them..Now the A/C is a must have thing...but girl it was like you did one thing and had to do another lots of $$$ from what I could see...WELCOME back to blogging I have missed you my friend...enjoy your new floors...hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
Bo's back! Yayy!! First off your floors look fantastic!! I want them!! Heck, I'll take your airconditioning too!
I tell you, when you have to deal with contractors why bother coming up whth an estimate, it NEVER stays the same!!
Glad you're back! Wow! Your world has been spinning pretty fast. Love the new floors - and what cute doggies at your house! See ya!
Wow! That's alot of work. You must be exhausted. I love the hardwood floors and your chadelier. Glad you're back.
Welcome back! Wow, what a dollars flying saga! One thin begets another!
Enjoy your new floors and chandy and I know you will stay cool!
New heat, new cooling, a gorgeous new light...and STUNNING hardwood floors. WOO HOO YOU! But I bet you are sooooo tired of dealing with contractors. It's exhausting having that kind of stuff done. I'm glad you finally have your house back. And don't worry...the furbabies will get used to the clicking lol
Great to see you have survived a LOT of work! Wow the floor is stunning! Love the lighting too!
WOW the old saying when it rains it pours, is really true here! But thank God you were able to do all that needed to be done and the end results a beutiful cool/warm home! 2 years ago on RMS I was debating hardwood or carpet, and Dot from Picket Fences told me to go with the wood whether I had to sell a body part or not, and you know she was right and I hardly miss that body part at all! LOL Thanks so much for stopping by, you get so many comments to keep up with I really really do appreciate the nice comments you always leave me. Hope the rest of the summer is uneventful, well as far as home repairs and teeth go, lol. Have a great day! Sue
Those floors are so beautiful! That is funny about the doggie nails clicking. I keep a dremmel on the end table and about once a week I dremmel their little nails so they don't hit the floor. They didn't like it at first, but they're used to it now. Well sorta...hahaha
Your new chandy is pretty too!
Welcome back, Bo! I missed you! I just got back myself from a hectic trip to Florida, visiting 5 kids and attending stepdaughter's wedding. I have unpacked 4 luggage, 2 more to go. Your floor is gorgeous! Worth every penny you spent. Love the chandy also. I hope you get enough rest, you've been busy!...Christine
Hi Bo, good to hear from you! You've had alot going on too! Love the new floors, they look great!! Your light is really pretty too, and I bet your new unit is cooling you off nicely! Thanks for checking out the new patio. I know what you mean about broke$$ we used tax money, and still had to withdraw a little....oops! No more spending for me, we are sticking to the budget! It's all worth it though, right? Oh yes, I've had alot of dentist visits too, glad your tooth is fixed. Take care! Kristen
Nice Floors Bo!!! I miss you so much!!! I an trying to get back into blogging....
xoxoxoxoxo

Dear Bo, what a saga you have been through, LOL. Your floors are just stunning, so at least that was a great positive thing to come out of it all. Love those! And I know exactly what you mean about projects costing more than you think. I just had granite put in my kitchen & after they took the old tile off the counters, discovered that to keep my backsplash they would have to trim off about 1/4" of it to get the granite in. So, $350 later & that was done. You just never know what you'll find with projects! Thanks for stopping by to see me, I love it when you do. And again, wish I had more time to visit the thousands of you out there in blogland. xoxo
Bo,
I am so happy to hear you are back! I am sorry to hear about all of your misfortune, I can visualize all the money flying out the windows! But on the positive side, you have beautiful teak floors, a fabulous chandalier find and you had beautiful weather on Mother's Day!! Hooray! I love the floors! Wait until the dogs try to hit the brakes quicky for the first time and slam into a wall!! LOL!!
I came by also to tell you that you won my Pay It Forward Give Away that ran my last three posts. You made it just in time. So I will be sending you a few gifts (I will need you to email your address to me), and then when you are ready, you can post your give away. It is like a chain letter. I posted the gifts I received from the blogger that chose me in an older post if you want to have a look. I'm so glad you won!! ;-)
Have a great week!! :-D
xoxo
Jane
WElcome back Bo! You've been busy! Your floors look gorgeous and well worth the $ you spent on it.....enjoy it!
The air conditioning and heating unit will be nice and efficient and keep you comfortable too.
Now trhe dentist and snaking out the sink are things I wish you didn't ahev to do...lol....but I'm glad for you that it's all done!
I went to Colorado to visit my grandson and since I've been back I've been playing catch up with everyone ... I'm also trying to do some spring cleaning and gardening while the weather is not hot, so I know how it is to get back to the full swing of blogging, Bo. Take your time and we'll be here for you!
Hugs, Pat
PS: I lve all the new little features on your blog!
Hi Bo!
Its sooo good to see you back and you sure had a tale to tell. Your floors look wonderful. Its a lovely shade of wood. That must have been some commotion and it didn't seem to want to end there did it? Your chandalier is lovely too. It must feel like a new place now. Just beautiful.
The good thing is that in the end everything came out just great and looks sooo good!
have a nice evening and hope you can rest some..
Judi

Love the new floor. Enjoyed your post.
My GOODNESS Bo! I'm exhausted just READING about all you've been doing!
The floors are breath-taking! I would LOVE to have that done in my dining room. Maybe 1 day.
At least your air quit working on a cool day. Mine quit last August!
I'm glad you're back....we've missed you~
♥,LIlly
Bless your heart, Bo! I can say one thing about all your "mishaps." You make me feel so not alone in the world! LOL! This sounds like my life! LOL! The new chandelier is really pretty and I love your new floors!
So glad to see you back! Miss your sweet self! :) ~hugs, Rhonda
Man, I think I need a break after reading all that! My hubs always says don't start 1 project, it leads to too many others!!
Your floor looks great!
Thanks :-) Bo, I'm glad you enjoyed the tour and the bangers n mash, hope you are having a wonderful week, Kathy.
Well my goodnes Bo, you certainly have been busy, haven't you????? Your accomplished to-do list certainly tops mine. Goodness lady. . . I think you deserve a vacation now!!
Blessings,
Sher
Hi Bo! Oh, you lived in Gadsden? We used to go there so much. That's where my first piano came from!
It is lovely there in Desoto Sate Park. I really don't know when those chalets were built, but it was quite comfy!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Hi, Mizz Brown Eyes...
Gosh, it seems forever since we "talked", sister friend. I see you have been very busy indeed...I love your new floor and light. I wish I had your old one!! It's a beauty, too.
I've been awfully busy, as well, and have slowed down a lot on my time at the computer. WINTER time is computer time...SUMMER is OUTSIDE time for me. Especially now that I can walk good again, I am so so enjoying working in my yard. The last 2 summers, I couldn't do it. I love every minute of it and am so very thankful.
Take care...
I'm just thankful that it all happen in the spring until waiting for the winter when it could have been alot worse on you. The floors look awesome; it does make a huge difference when you get it installed. Have a great week-end, glad you are back. I have a wedding this week-end; it's one of our friends and neighbor and I am doing the flowers for the wedding party. I will be off work tomorrow and monday. Long week-end and I am looking forward to it.
Hi Bo, I am so glad you are BACK! I can tell that everyone is glad your back! You were one missed girl!
You have been through it, haven't you! Glad everything is coming back together for you!!!
Nancy
Lots of great things happening there, huh? I can't wait to see what it looks like next!
Hello my poor frazzled Bo. I would be frantic with all the troubles you had...to install the floor, replace the air cond. and getting a butt crack revealing plumber to take care of the disposal. Sigh! But look at your gorgeous floor. I love it and envy it too. Beautiful. Now, for a week at a cabin in Colorado. A gift you do not have to pay for. Oh joy!!!
I am so looking forward to meeting you. You need a good hug to help you forget your troubles. It won't be long now.
I am able to use my computer for a few more days. We leave here on Tuesday to head for the Colorado mountains. Then who knows if we will have service.
My time with Dana, at the Stone Rabbit was delightful. We had so much fun and her friends all came along too. I'm posting about our meeting with Pat at Back Porch Musings and Dana tomorrow.
I loved your cute post today. Bo, you have a great sense of humor. I am looking forward to some good fun and laughs when we meet.
Hugs xoxo...Jeanne
Hey Bo! I've been gone too but finally managed to get back online and check up on ya!
Hi Bo,
Thanks so much for all the sweet comments about Lexi. She definitely is a special girl!! Since we never thought we would have a child she is all we could have ever asked for and more!!
Hope you and your family have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!♥
You are so funny, Bo! LOL! Have a nice long weekend holiday!...Christine
Hello Darlin'...
Yep...I'm just a good ol' Texas girl here, my friend! Hehe! I'm so glad that you stopped by my place today...I always enjoy our visits and I've missed you! But I realize that life calls...
Girl, I just love your new floors!!! They are absolutely gorgeous and I'm so green with envy right now! Your home is so beautiful!!! Oh my...and isn't it just the way it always goes when you're doing a project like that. A little unexpected surprise here...and there!!! But it certainly all seems worth it...looking at those beautiful floors!!! I'm so happy for you, Sweetie!!!
Have a blessed and safe Memorial Day weekend, my friend!
Love ya,
Chari
Bo, It's nice to have you back! Glad you got some great things accomplished...the floors are great, and the chandy is a very nice change. But spaghetti clogged the disposal???? That's crazy! Linda
Dear Bo, May you have a wonderful Memorial day weekend my friend...Hugs and smiles Gloria
Good morning Bo, a quick hello and I am sorry to hear you haven't been well. lease get well quick.
I was looking at your post again and I love your new chandy. Just beautiful. I love your floor too. I would love wood floors. Maybe someday.
I tried to visit some yesterday, but we were busy with ball games and cookouts to go to. Having fun with family and I love it all.
Please take care of yourself. The mountains are calling our names.
Love and hugs...Jeanne
New floors are gorgeous, so is the new chandelier, and it always is nice to have new A/C before the summer really sets in ... but HOLY SMOKES honey, you must be eating oatmeal for dinner each night after all this expense!
Adorable dog, too -- and yes, hardwood floors are a surprise to them if they are used to carpet. I'll never forget the look on ours when we moved here -- "Mom, what have you DONE????"
Thanks for visiting... I love that old chandelier of yours, too. If you want to give it a good home, lol, you know where it can find one!
Best... Cass
Good morning Bo, I didn't get to you yesterday as time ran out. You might say I ran out of energy. LOL. I had fun taking the shot of the elk in the window with the mountains in the back ground. It was my favorite shot of the day.
Do you remember we have to take linens and pillows etc. to the cabin? I forgot and ended up at Big lots buying what we needed. sigh. It won't go to waste as our cabin is always in need of extras.
See you before we know it.
Hugs xoxo...Jeanne
I realize it was not funny when all of this was happening to you but you took pictures and add humour to your posting. It sounded like one of our years in our previous home, where it felt like everything that could have went wrong or broke did. Know exactly how you must have felt! Just think how the checkbook or savings feels after all this! LOL! Keep smiling!
Happy Sunday Bo, hugs, Kathy.
Bo, as always, your post made me laugh hysterically. Starting with the picture of the dog in curlers at the top, then scrolling down to the old lady, Toothfairyman, and the picture you're not sure why you posted - girl you are a HOOT!!!!Luv ya Bo, Kim
