I'm baaaack..............
and I feel like bawling!!!!*

We moved on to Coloradolady's cabin .... and from there went sightseeing in Breckenridge, Buena Vista, Fairplay/South Park & even went to Cripple Creek...but I was sick all of the time & even Mr. Bo had difficulties (he's on heart meds & blood thinner)...so, reluctantly we headed home Tuesday morning rather than Saturday as planned.

And here I am....I got altitude sickness & couldn't even get off of the train....

My biggest regret was not getting to meet with sweet Jeanne & Bill fromBackyard Neighbor as we had intended...sigh...maybe another time, another place. I think she was right that we shouldn't have gone to the Peak the first thing....and also, I had been fighting a respiratory thingy a couple of weeks prior to our trip...so...
*
And I'm also heartsick & sad about this....*
Our beautiful new hardwood floors are buckling where the tape has a bend in it. The installer hung up on Mr. Bo when he called & said it wasn't anything his crew did.... we shall see how this drama plays out....I'm still here but I may be scarce a bit longer....I'll try to come by to visit though...

Oh Bo, I'm sorry to hear that you had to shorten your vacation. That's too bad. It looks like you guys had a great time with Evan though. That train ride looks awesome. Bummer about your hardwood flooring. It'll be interesting to hear how that plays out. ~ Robyn
Hello Dearheart...
Ohhh my...I'm so sorry to hear that you were ill throughout your stay here in Colorado! I'm going to have a little talk with our altitude here and tell it that it must be much more gracious to our guests!!! Girl, I live in the northeast corner of Colorado...about 2 hrs. from the mountains! It sometimes will bother me when we go up to the mountains. I sure do hate hearing that you didn't get to enjoy the sights...there are so many beautiful places to see and enjoy! It may be true what Jeanne said...about going clear up to Pike's Peak first thing...that terribly high altitude just overloaded all of your senses!!! Ahhhh...I'm so sorry! I bet you're happy to be back home! Are you feeling better now?
Well my friend, what a dissappointment with your new wood floors but I'm sure they can be fixed!!! I'll say a prayer, my friend...that the contractor will make this right for ya'll!!! Well, I'm getting ready to leave on vacation myself...this Saturday we're heading to south Texas to see all of my family! I'm so excited...I can't hardly stand it!!!
Warmest wishes,
Chari
Awwww, Bo ... I'm so sorry to hear about you and Mr. Bo getting sick while on vacation. I know you had been looking forward to it for a long time. And then, to come home and discover that your beautiful floors had buckled. My heart goes out to you and Mr. Bo, and I hope you can work things out with the contractor. Keep your chin up, my friend, and keep us posted.
Oh, my goodness, Bo. What an ordeal! Well, the most important thing is to get better - both of you. Sorry about the floor - that is just not right! Hopefully your next post will have some good news. Linda
Morning sweetie...it is so god to have you back but I am so sorry about your getting sick during your vacation and not getting to meet up with your blogging buddy...there will be another time I am sure...
I hope the contractor will do the right thing and make the floors right...grab a Pepsi and an Oreo...it will get better! Hope you have a great day sweetie!
OHHH Bo, I am sorry to hear about you & hubby not feeling great on your trip. I know you must have been so sad about it. I would have been too... And your floor what a shame. That contractor should be ashamed about him code of ethics... I sure hope he comes around and fixes it for you. Get better... Love YA
(((HUGS)))
Donna
Also sorry to hear that your vacation wasn't all you wanted it to be.
As for your hardwood floors, call your local TV news anchor; that contractor will fix the floors then... you betcha!
Hi Bo!
So sorry you had problems on your vacation & had to come home early.
Contractors can be a pain! Hope things work out.
Have a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Carol
Oh no....I hate that you got sick on your trip and had to return early. I do hope you are feeling better now.
I hope that contractor gets over there and makes your beautiful floors right!
Bo, I just left a note for you at Facebook. I'm not really savvy over there and I don't do much. Only once in awile...I was urged to join by g'daughter Xanti.
I am soooo sorry to hear about your altitude sickness. In 1969, when I was married to my first husband, we drove up Mt Evans (Colorado). He was only 28, no ill health at all. He had altitude sickness!
We put off redoing the condo flooring. I'm glad. I sure would hate for something like this to happen. I hope the buckling and poor customer care are resolved!!
Bo, I am glad you are back and doing better. I understand your altitude sickness, as my sister was like you when she went with us the first time. It takes awhile, but it is awful at first. Sorry it happened because that is truly beautiful country.
My poor Bo! It was so good to hear from you, despite the bad news. Hey listen - you and hubs stand firm about those floors. And I would also report that installer to the BBB. Good luck my friend and keep your chin up! Kim
Oh no! Bo, I'm sorry your Co. vacation was filled with ups and downs - I really wanted it to be just ups, ups, ups! And I will say a prayer for you with those floors. I think they'll be fine ... everything can be fixed. :)
Oh my goodness, my heart breaks for you. It is heartbreaking to plan and dream for so long and then have to cut it short, but I'm sure there is a reason for everything...even if we don't see it.
The contractor, is wrong, did he buy the flooring or did you. If he did he is responsible for it. If you did you should contact the company you bought it from.
I hate that your new floor is not doing right. Hope it works out for you.
Molly
Hi Bo,
I am so sorry to hear about your vacation...I hope you are feeling better, now.
About that hardwood~
You know my hubby and his brothers own a floor covering store here in Knoxville, and they have had the store for 25+ years..family business ;) There is only 2 things that will cause hardwood to bow or buckle...1. is moisture coming from somewhere. 2. the installer did not leave room for and expansion...meaning that wood will expand in warm weather and if the installer didn't alllow for that when he installed it...then it will bow, or buckle...You really need to get a factory Rep (maker of the wood) to come and look at it, the store you bought it from should be able to do that for you, and or a house inspector. Also, is your flooring, hardwood or laminate? If it is hardwood, is it nail down or glue down wood?
Let me know what is going on with it. Good Luck. Nancy
Hi Bo, it is so good to see you back but I am really sorry that you got sick. I understand how you feel as this has happened to me but you hang in there.
Also, sorry about those floors. Sending you lots of hugs and good thoughts. We miss you!
Barb
Ah poor BO I am so sorry you had to cut your trip short and that it wasn't as enjoyable as planned! I miss you though!! Hugs French;) xoxox
You poor thing, I am sorry to hear this, that darn altitude sickness is a bummer!
I hope things turn around real soon for you! Sue
Hi Bo, I hope that you're feeling better. I hate that you had to cut your vacation short.
I can't believe there's a problem with your beautiful floors--I so hope that the installer will make good on it and come fix it for you--I am sooo sorry!
Oh, Bo....I am so sad. I know altitude sickness can be a bear...
If you and Sonny want to try and make another trip out in the fall for the fall foliage, let me know. I feel bad you did not get your full week. Maybe next time, at a slower pace, all would be OK. Besides, the leaves are breathtaking in the fall.
Now. If you need Steve to go with a big ole can of Woop-@ss to that store...let me know!! That makes me so mad. I hope they will get this fixed for you.
Hugs. Dear. Friend.
Hey Bo
Sometimes the best laid plans.................
What's important is that you are home safe and sound! I'm sure you'll make up for the disapointment of your vacation, I too was excited for you, but girl, your health and well being comes first!
As for the floor, I hope that works out, and the contractor comes to his senses!!
Welcome home, Bo! I am so sorry for that mishap on your trip.I hope you recovered pretty fast. So sorry about the floor too. I hope you get this resolved...Christine
Hope you're feeling better!
THe floor man...those dirty rotten scoundrels<<<< (is that how you spell it?) How dare he hang up on Mr. Bo! We had that happen to us to, but they came back and fixed it. Has it been humid where you live? Did they let the wood aclimate in your home before installing it? xo Michele
Oh, that's just terrible. I hate that you guys got sick on your nice trip and didn't get to meet up with Jeanne and her husband, but more than that, I hate that your floors are giving you problems. Or perhaps I should say, your installer is giving you problems. Spread the word about this BAD guy.
Bo,
So sorry you got sick on the trip. It must have been a relief to walk through your own front door. And don't feel guilty, it wasn't your fault. I hope you can meet up with Jeanne another time.
Good luck with the floor installer. Why are there always so many horror stories about hired help. It is like one big conspiracy to take our money for shoddy work.
I hope everything takes a turn for the better, sweet friend.
xoxo
Jane
Bo I am so sorry you and hubby were not well during your trip, I know you were all looking forward to it, I hope you are feeling better now although having that nasty installer behave so badly would not have helped. I hope you get your floors sorted out very soon, I am sending my biggest hugs to you my friend, Kathy.
Hi Bo!
I'm sorry you and your husband had to cut your vacation short! The high altitude can be hard to get use to. When we visit our son in Denver, Co we always wait a few days to get used to the mile high altitude before we take a trip up in the mopuntains.
I am also sorry about the new floors buckling. I hope the contractor will resolve that to your satisfaction!
Hopefully better days are ahead!
Hi Bo! It seems like years since I got to go visiting my blogging buds. I'm so sorry to hear you got altitude sickness on this trip and missed seeing your blogging bud and her husband! Some days it's crazy how things work out...I'm sure you were disappointed. I'll say a prayer for the floor situation...there is nothing worse than paying for a job...and this is a result. You take care...~CC Catherine
welcome home...even if it was a little early....the photos in this post were wonderful...love the silly ones too!
Hope you get that floor issue fixed up soon...and without too much stress!
OH Bo, I am so sorry to hear about your trip Bummer my friend..Now you stand firm on those floors and don't let them get the best of you...Its seem like some people think because you live on SS that you won't say a thing an don't want to put up a fight...I have had my share of dealing with contractors...sometimes I feel like the only thing that fits after they leave is my check in their pocket...I went outs with my heating guys for 2 years and I think he thought I would give up when Wally died...but I was lucky as we have a TV channel you can write into about consumer fraud and ripping off senior's and they did a report on TV about them and within 3 days the heating company was here to make it right...I paid good money for this Geo-Thermo heating and air...and they did not hook it up right...so here I am using a propane camp heater in my house during the winter time for heat...did this for 2 years...Hope you get better my Dear friend...Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
Oh, major bummer. I'm so sorry. It just stinks when these things that never bothered us before have a way of sneaking up on us.
I got sick the last time I took my grandson to a 3-D movie. What's up with that?
And, I can imagine how disappointed you are that you and Jeanne didn't hook up. I know just how disappointed she is, too.
Maybe you can head over to her mountain. It isn't nearly as high as those.
Feel better and cheer up. We all love you. And, tell those guys to fix your floor. Tell them that Bevery said just do it.
Welcome home, dear Bo, but oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear that you were not feeling well the whole time! Altitude sickness is no fun at all and with my having vertigo already, I know it would probably make me ill as well. I know it was a disappointment for you but these things happen. Next trip plan somewhere where you won't be so high up! lol xoxo
Hi Bo! I've missed you so much! Oh, I'm sorry you felt bad on your trip! Altitude works it's evil on me too!
Too bad you didn't get to meet up with our darling Jeanne! Shoot!
Oh, my goodness! Your beautiful floors! They had better do the right thing! Of course it's because of something they did WRONG! Shame on that guy hanging up on your husband! So many people are just not honest and trustworthy anymore! You stand you ground!
Be a sweetie and keep us informed,
Shelia ;)
Oh, no...getting sick on a vacation..especially a vacation in a place as beautiful as Colorado, is horrible. So sorry, Bo.
I just emailed questions to Suzanne about renting her cabin..I, too, am on blood thinners..no heart meds other than Plavix to keep our system from blockage...wonder if we shouldn't go to the high country??
Also sorry about your floors. Are they real wood or the laminate? I've heard others with laminate having trouble...but not ones with the real wood. Sure hope it all plays out to YOUR advantage.
Take care, feel better soon..
xo bj
Hi bo. thank you for coming by to visit the prom pictures. Been so busy at work I couldn't even post words with the pics, so thank you so much. Of course your pom's would have been so awesome at the pawty! Next time we get in Texas they will have to meet up!
I am so mad about your floors I could spit. How frustrating for the installer to say not his fault. Did he even bother to come look at the problem before he phone diagnosed that it wasn't his fault? Unless there is water under the slab or got on top there is no excuse!!! Is it a straight line buckle or a wavy buckle? Wavy is most likely water. Hard line is installation. I know these things. Good luck. If you paid with charge card cancel payment until resolved.
Okay, back to nice things...
HUGS! Penny
Sorry about your vacation and your floors! Things are going to be looking up soon! :D Jewel
Bo, so glad that you are back safe and sound, but I'm sorry that your trip wasn't all that you'd hoped for. The pics you took were great, Evan looks like he had a great time. And I'm really angry about your floors. Hopefully the manufacturer or the store that you purchased the flooring from will make this right. Sending lots of hugs and good thoughts your way. Kathy
Good morning Bo! I am just so happy to see you regularly now....Christine
Thanks for the heads up on the Blackberry Wine cake..I don;t even have to go to the store to make this one!!
Hope you are feeling better...
Hey Bo! We went to Pikes Peak a couple of years ago. My younger son, who is a toughey, ended up sitting among the boulders white faced until we left. Those oxygen machines in the building look so icky to me but I guess they are necessary. Sorry y'all ended up sick.
Here's a story for you...for our honeymoon Paul and I went from Dallas to Breckenridge to ski. We both had altitude sickness for the first two days. We did recover...thank goodness!
Now y'all stick it to those floor people. There's not a water leak anywhere, is there?
Oh My Goodness! I am so sorry to hear that while I was dreaming of you off having a wonderful trip, you were sick! And then to come home and find problems with your new floor - well, can anything else go wrong? One wonderful thing is that YOU ARE BACK in Blogville, and it may not be so wonderful for you, but it is for me and the rest of Blogville. laurie
Oh no Bo! That is terrible that your got sick and had to cut it short. I hope you feel great now.
So sorry about the floors as well. I hope it all works out very soon.
Have a blessed day.
~Melisaa :)
Gosh Bo, I'm so sorry you were sick. I thought of you during our trip across Wyoming and wondered how your trip was going...not so good I guess.
I'm sending you healing thoughts. Get well soon.
Thanks for stopping by and your sweet comments. We lost daddy 5 years ago. I'm just happy that he got to meet all of his grandkids before he passed. Kathy
Hi Bo
Your pictures of your trip are lovely...I'm sorry you were feeling unwell though. Thats not a nice thing.
Too bad you missed Jeanne too...another time...
and your floor...hmmm..it should not be doing that...I hope you get it sorted out.
have a lovely weekend
Judi
Oh Bo, so sorry you didn't get to participate in the cloche party, but I sure hope you made the rounds and saw all the fabulous things everyone created. Such inspiration and eye candy. Sounds like your trip to Colorado was a little too much. That altitude will get the best of you every time. It is really hard to breath and navigate with so little air. I hope you're feeling better soon, and thanks for checking in. Hugs, Marty
Hi Bo! So good to see you again, my sweet lady.... and it looks that you just happened to come back from having a great time... you even got to meet Jeanne!... now that's something... you ladies are two of my favorites blogging gals... love you both!
cielo
Hi Bo!
I'm so sorry you didn't get to meet your blogging buddies and really sorry that you didn't feel well. Sometimes we just need a vacation from the vacation. : (
~Liz
Hey Bo,
So sad about your trip as it is truly amazing country there.
And I never understand how a business/contractor in this case, can think hanging up on customer is professional or good for business. Keep us posted as I have a feeling its not the last he has heard from you!
Lisa & Alfie
Sorry you got sick on your trip. And your beautiful floor...well, I hope you are able to get that drama cleared up soon...I hate things like that! Try to have a nice calm break!!
How are you feeling?
Your husband ate WHAT? A Bison burger? Will you tell him we take pictures of Bison, we don't eat them! Okay, I did eat some many years ago and didn't really like it.
Oh my!! I'm so sorry you were sick on your vacation! Bless you both...I hope you are feeling better! L~
Oh, sweet friend... I'm SO sorry that things have been rough. I'm sending you a big hug through the keyboard and wish I could be there to bring you a big chocolate cake or something to cheer you up.
Hope all is resolved soon.
Much love to you, Bo!
XO,
Sheila... who has also been MIA!
there's a little something on my blog for you when you have a minute
Hello Bo, I am sure you read my Email by now but I wanted to come by and see you. Your post is so sad and cute too. Love your pics. I hope you and Mr. Bo are feeling better by now.
That is a cute photo of Evan. Is he still staying with you? It sure was cold up there on Pike's Peak. I about froze to death up there and I had warm clothes on. I am so sorry you were ill my friend.
Your floors could be from the wood not resting and drying long enough. Did you buy the flooring or did the installers bring it? The next question is, where did you get the flooring? If you bought it you may have to go to the company and find out if the wood was ready to install. Just giving you some ideas. It happened to my daughter's inlaws. I'll find out what the outcome was and let you know.
Cheer up my friend, it will be ok.
Love...Jeanne
Hi Bo - Sorry you had to cut your trip short - it looked like a stunning place.
About your floors, I know you've had a lot of advice - but our floors did the same thing and I think someone else mentioned it earlier. You may want to check and make sure the installer left enought room for expansion (doesn't sound like he did). They had to come back and remove or cut a couple of inches from some of the pieces on the end in the closets and in nearly invisible to the eye places for that very thing. Hope this is making sense - I would certainly get the manufacturer to come take a look, but that is what it sounds like to me. We have laminate and after that initial shock, we love 'em.
Thanks for the visit.
Now, I must tell you that I have been so good about posting the answer to my questions ever since you "switched my legs". And, you have been so busy that you haven't seen them yet. ;-)
But, trust me there have been no great disclosures.
Morning Bo! Just coming by to check on you sweetie..hope you are feeling better and I hope you got your floor situation fixed..
I love seeing your gorgeous header pic...I would love to have that sight in my backyard! lol Take care girl and have a beautiful day!
Hi Bo, thanks for your email. I am taking a moment to check in on you. We live only an hour plus away from our camp site in the Smokey Mountain National Park, so we will be leaving about 11:30 am today. One of our daughters and her family are already here. They pulled in late last night. They have a real nice pop up camper.
See you in a week. I will let you know about the buckled wood Fl. when I can.
Love and hugs...Jeanne
HI Bo! So sorry your trip didn't turn out to be everyting you had hoped! And your floors...it's a CRIME! I know how much I want hardwoods! If that happened after I finally got them, I'd be crushed! I hope you have resolved the situation! Keep us posted!!...hugs...Debbie
Hi Bo...Just came by to say Hi...I get very car sick and that would include the tram....I really feel for you...it is not fun can really spoil the day....glad you are better and so glad you had a great vacation....except for the sick part....
Hugs :-)
Hi Bo,
Sorry you got sick...altitude sickness is awful! Then to come home to a floor issue...not fair! I sure hope your installer does the right thing and fixes it. Susan
Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry to hear you were sick. Sure hope this finds you feeling much better. I certainly hope your installer stands up and does the right thing. There is nothing worse...
Happy Fourth my friend...
hugs ~lynne~
Bo, I miss you!!! I hope you're okay. Sending you a big ole hug along with much love...
XO,
Sheila :-)
