~AFTERNOON DELIGHT~ for FOODIE FRIDAY

It's time for the 3rd FOODIE FRIDAY hosted by the talented Gollum who always has the best treats to enjoy on her beautiful blog...be it decor, food or wonderful wisdom...be sure to check her blog to visit the other participants for this week's party.
*
For today, I'm sharing a simple afternoon delight spread on my coffee table in the den.

*
Some sliced pound cake with big, fresh, juicy strawberries on the side...
*
I'm using some little bunny cups I found at Goodwill & some leaf shaped bowls that match some plates I bought several years ago at Big Lots.... *
Just look at those whopper strawberries!
*
I hope you can see the embroidered detail on the napkins I purchased at an estate sale...
*

The little bunny pitcher will hold icy cold milk...I found it at a thrift store...*
Yes, the roses are faux in my chintz vase...a Ross find...
I could use Donna's help from http://designson47thstreet.blogspot.com/ to arrange them for me..
Thanks for coming by to have strawberries & cake with me...
Don't forget, the next FOODIE FRIDAY will be an early St. Patrick's Day theme to be posted Friday March 13th.

Thank you Gollum for hosting this FUN event!

Bo,

I just love pound cake. It's something we don't have here too often but we also love it with strawberries and cream. I have a recipe for Chocolate Swirl Poundcake I cut out of Redbook years and years ago. A chocolate batter is swirled through the white batter and it is so pretty when it's sliced. I serve that with homemade whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Yum.

Love how you served on your coffee table and would love to have those dishes. The creamer is so sweet as well as the bunny cups.

By the way I commented on your last post just now, I have been playing catch~up!

xoxo

Good morning Bo. I just read your post again and I want all of that lovely dessert for breakfast. Sigh!

Thank you for your sweet comment on my Trippy. I have never been in love with another dog like this one. I adored Babette but we are talking about deep LOVE here. She was there for me when my mother died and when my children left for college and got married. She filled the void with her precious love for me. When she became so ill at 10 years I cried so much she tried to console 'me.' She would put her paw on my face and plead with me not to be so sad. I need another poodle to love but we are waiting until after this summer. We look at the breeder we like on the net and try to decide what color we want and admire all the new puppies. We saw a chocolate one we love. Lord help me be strong and wait.

Boy, this is making me cry. I love your poms Bo. They are beautiful little dogs. What will you do this summer? This should be an Email. Too late I can't write this again.

Love you my sweet friend, Jeanne

Morning Sweet Bo! I mailed your package yesterday! Oh, I must tell you, sometimes I cheat and this time I did cheat! I Googled Kitchen Sink songs and this one came up! I went to YouTube and sure enough, they had it and I listened to it! Totally stupid but I thought it was so funny!

I wish I could visit and share in the food and beauty. It's all so lovely and "girly" and I just adore that type of thing.

I have posted a very important message on my blog so I hope you can jump over and read it and direct your bloggers there as well. Not my usual nonsense and girl talk. Thanks so much!
