"FLAUNT YOUR REDS FRIDAY"

Announcing the first ever 'FLAUNT YOUR REDS FRIDAY' hosted by Nancy @ ~Southern Lady~ ...if you haven't visited her blog before...you owe it to yourself to go there right away. Her home is gorgeous, her talents are plentiful, her heart is warm & gracious & she is someone you'd LOVE to get to know!

*

Okay, here is my offerings of REDS found around my home...I've only recently discovered it's my new favorite color, so please forgive me when you see some of my photo offerings...

For instance...you'll always see some of these around my house...

*

Here is a painting above my fireplace ...

This is a gift from my precious "adopted" sister

And a rooster cookie jar from Ross

sorry about the glare on this picture...it is a companion piece to the following one...

These remind us of our once-in-a-lifetime trip to Europe in 2006...

*

Do you remember this precious gift Nikki @ Blah, Blah, Blah, blog sent me a while ago....

Oh, sorry...this photo of my chef quartet didn't turn out well...some have red kerchiefs...some have red cheeks...some are just there...

Here are my rooster canisters from Ross...yeah, they're empty, but I just like seeing them sitting around on the cabinet....

Now this is my new best friend...please ignore the lamp cord to the left...

I love this can opener from Wallyworld...

Oh yes, I had to have a rooster...he's from Ross...his tail feathers are metal...imagine that!

These chair cushions were found at my favorite thrift store...set of 4 for $8...please ignore the leaf on the left of the pic...remember I have 3 pooches that track in "stuff"...

I sure hope you're not sick of seeing my breakfast nook mural...it makes me smile every morning when I walk in & see it...

I think they call these a cache pot??? I just bought it because....
I got this pillow for $3 at an estate sale...I put it out at Christmas, but I left it out for year around ....

*

What??? You are still with me??? OK then...this is just an arrangement sitting on my hearth...

*

Here is a 3-dimensional plaque from my fave thrift store...and this is a wall that I painted over 45 year old attached wallpaper...
*

I used these apples with some greenery at Christmas & I decided to leave them on the ledge year around...a Dollar Store find...
*

I bought this rug to go in front of my fridge...but WHOA...way too bright, so back to Big Lots it went...

*

Now here is my favorite piece...this is a hand-painted wooden & very heavy box I found at a thrift store priced at $15...but it was discounted that day & I got it for $12. the artistry is excellent..

*

Just look at the detailed work on the sides...It measures 15" around & 6" deep...
*

The artist even painted the inside of the box & lid.... Thank you whoever you were that made this treasure for me to find....

I'm so glad you stayed with me for my first tour of REDS & please go over to see Nancy to view the other blogs that are flaunting their reds today!

Bye-bye...

Your reds put my reds to shame! You have so many red things I love. Love that little Dollar Store pig (not that he was red), and the picture over the fp is always one of my faves. Those red cannisters have to be my favorite. My mom would love that LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE sign. That's one of her favorite sayings. Your paint color looks like the color of my dining room. And of course, my most favorite is that little picture of you that Nikki sent - it's precious. My dad told me that he read that eating/drinking things with aspartame shrink your blood vessels and can increase your risk of brain aneurysms (sp?). After I think it was Becky's SIL died last week, I've been trying to give up Diet Coke, and IT-IS-KILLING-ME! I might just have to take the risk. :O) Have a great weekend!

I especially love your red canisters!!!

Hi Bo! Wow you can flaunt your reds very well. I see quite a few things I could use - like those rooster canisters - I'd put stuff in 'em! Maybe you don't need them? :P

You know I adore the rooster cookie jar and the canisters.
Oh my gosh!

I'm sooo happy you like my new bloggy dress. I needed feedback other than my hubby. He had no clue of course.

Have a great evening.

Good morning, Mizz Bo..You must know I love all of your reds this morning. Red is such a happy color and seems, to me, to make everything in the cottage just sing. Not a color anywhwere that is more happy!!
Now, I must say what others have already said...my registered nurse daughter says diet drinks are killing people...not a fast death, like dropping like flies, but, in time, that sweetner they use will leave it's mark.Sooo, 'cause I love ya, drink Crystal Light!! :O)

Hi Bo! I have so many thing to say! First, that mural is amazing! I'm gonna have to go back and read some more of your blog to get the scoop on that. Second, I cracked up at the coke can! Third, personally, i would hide my secret stash of chocolate (and don't we all have one?) in one of those canisters - my kids would never think to look there! And fourth, I smiled at you heading - my dad always called my mom "Brown-Eyes"..;)

Red is absolutely my favorite color. I think I'm going to have to join in one of these Fridays. I have three red jackets. The fleece needs to be replaced, but I haven't been able to find another one in red that I like.

Barbara Jean said...

Bo,
Thanks for coming by, and as usual, being such an encouragement.

All you red is out of this world!!!
I'm so glad i have the store because i can have little corners of this and that in assorted colors. Not as much able to do that at home. All too open, even though small.

Blessings on your day.

I love red and in fact, my kitchen is made up with lots of red:-) I just love everything you've shown here, especially the rooster canister set, how gorgeous it is! I've never seen anything like them before. Isn't it amazing what one can find at a thrift store? I always wonder why someone gets rid of some of the stuff that's there but as they say, it's their loss and our gain:-) xoxo

That little cherub just cried out to live at Vanna's! I didn't have a choice! You've got a wonderful blog. I'll have to start following. Your reds are beautiful! I too never decorated with much red but these ladies have convinced me to add some! I saw in your profile that you have lost a son. I am so sorry! I lost my youngest sister in 2002 to suicide. She was my sister, sometimes like a daughter and my best friend. I miss her all the time and pray the Lord has her close to Him. God Bless, lauralu

Good morning back to you Bo. We are going to have snow today. We can't even see our mountains this morning. It is dark out too. I feel sunny though. We are listening to Nat King Cole and relaxing in front of the fireplace. Maybe I'll get Bill to play a game of cards. That will liven things up. He hates to lose. big smile.

Have a wonderful Sunday all the way over there in Texas. I wish we could be neighbors. LOL. We would talk the day away.

Hi Bo, I had to be at therapy by 8:15am and when I went over to Diane's this morning There wasn't any Mr.Linky. Bill dropped me off at my sister's house in back of me and when I came home about an hour ago, still no Mr. Linky. This happens to me all the time. I have no idea why. sigh. Most of the time Beverly links me on Sally's blue Mon. for the same reason.

I hope you are having a sunny happy day.

Hugs...Jeanne

As of yesterday she was still showing it as sold. I love that tray.
