An Author Among Us! & A Christmas Giveaway

There is another author among us!
*
*
If you haven't met the lovely Dianne @ Narrow Dog Blog please go by and get acquainted with
her. She is the author of this best seller "WHOSE FACE IS IN THE MIRROR"
It is the true story of her life .
(I have her permission to post about this amazing lady)
*
*
Dianne is sought after as a speaker and
this Wednesday morning, Dianne is leaving for VA. She will speak before a state advocacy, which is important because the audience will consist of judges, lawyers, shelter employees, etc. who deal with victims of abuse so it's important that they understand what is going on in the mind of a battered woman so they can better serve her as it can be a very frustrating .
*
As you will read on her blog, this book was written 8 years ago and remains a bestseller on abuse.
*
I intend to locate a copy and read her story right away.
*
*
*
Now, let me pass on the details of a GREAT CHRISTMAS GIVEAWAY from
a fellow Texan @
Coloradolady
*
She is having a weekly giveaway Nov. 16-Dec. 20 and what a GENEROUS gift it is...
Be sure to go visit her!
Thanks for coming by...I LOVE you all!

Mornin', Bo...I can't wait to read this book. I have never been an abused woman but have always felt my heartstrings pulled when I hear about battered women and abused children. My heart hurts for them so much I don't know what to do...
I will find this book as soon as I can...and thanks for telling me about it.'
love, bj

Thanks for getting the word out about Domestic Violence/Abuse. I, too, was a victim...many years ago (1981). After over a year of being followed, threatened, stalked, I finally took the situation in hand...and retaliated, or really showed him that I meant business...that he wasn't going to be allowed to hurt me again!!! And, I SCARED HIM away! (I didn't do anything illegal.) But, it showed him he didn't have control over me anymore...and if he EVER attempted to hurt me again, there would be severe consequences.

After 6-7 years, I saw him...1,000 miles or more away from home. When he spotted me in my car...HE ran!!! I guess I got my point across to him, huh?

~Blessings,
Jan

Good morning Bo, I am glad you were happy with my post. It actually was fun but it took hours. I am not the most adept at using the computer so it was probably less of a chore for someone who knows more about it. Any way it is done.

Dianne sounds like a person I would love to check out. What an interesting life she leads. I will read her book asap.

I posted about Coloradolady too. That is quite a give-a-way.

Have a wonderful day.

Love, Jeanne

Bo, thanks for stopping over today.
I love your picture at the top of your blog how adorable. Now that's my kind of relaxation!
All snuggled up to a dog and two cute little mice.
I stayed home to day and got the dinning room decorating all done.
The office tree and all the decorating done in there (in here) and the fire place mantel. I will work on the great room and finish that up tomorrow and then on to the sitting room which is a 9ft tree, the kitchen nook, the grandkids rooms and bath room
And then it's on to the master bed and bath and then the hall bathroom. Maybe I'll be done by next week-end.
Happy Holidays
Blossom
I will post pictures Monday.

Bo, you changed your header. It is adorable. Now I feel awful. We had a mouse in our house this week and we set a trap and killed it. sigh. I hated that, but I hate mice more if they are in my house.

It is 15 degrees here this am. Yesterday we had snow. What happened to global warming?

Bo, did you have trouble publishing any of your comments yesterday? I had a terrible time with so many bloggers I usually visit. Grrr. Dana did too. What's up with that.

Love ya, Jeanne

Good morning Bo, thanks for your prompt visit to my post today. I do look forward to your comments. Poor Abe, his life was lost and he was a great man in my opinion. I do admire him very much. It could have something to do with my maternal grandmother's love of him and George Washington. She named two of her five son's in honor of those men. :)

Hace a great Sunday...Jeanne
