Ms. Rhoda Found Some Of My "Junque" At Garage Sales This Weekend!!!

If you haven't been to Ms. Rhoda's at http://southernhospitality-rhoda.blogspot.com/, please do take a look at her garage sale finds this weekend so my photos will make more sense....I found this little chair at a garage sale a couple of weeks ago for $10 and knew I just had to have it for my little dressing area. Even though our home is 45 years old, we have only lived here just over a year having sold our newer home to be mortgage free here. I never liked the paper in this area and knew I would change it someday.....

Then the search was on for some kind of wallcovering that would go with the chair...and lo & behold, I found this plaid paper at Lowe's that is almost an exact match to the fabric!

Here's another look at the paper with the chair fabric....

And here are very similiar French scene pictures I have in a guestroom that look very much like the ones Ms. Rhoda saw at the garage sale...How uncanny is that?

I love your chair and your pictures, wow, what fabulous finds!!!

You are so smart to move to a home and not have a mortgage! Good for you :) :)

I would actually love to sell our home and downsize in price, too...but there is no selling in Michigan right now...it's really bad here for the housing market...so we will trudge along and hopefully when we do sell ( the plan is 5 years from now)...we will make some money off of this house...we'll see...

Bo, Your chair is so charming and your wall paper find is perfect. I can't wait to see the finished room. The cost of the chair is such a deal.
Lucky you.

I do visit Rhoda'a post and she is a great decorator. She uses common sense with design that is so clever.

I am crazy about plaid. You must be doing something right to get that chair and paper to match so well. I also read the poem in your previous post. That is special, and I like the pictures that go with it. It gives us all something to think about....

Oh, Bo...I ADORE that chair...and the wallpaper is going to be fabulous with it. I love anything plaid!!
The reason we are living in a
1950's cottage is for the exact same reason. We had 2 kids to put thru college and never wanted to have a big house payment. We have just, over the years, made our little plain, vanilla tract house into a home we are proud of and it is very comfortable. I totally understand you feeling the same.
happy evening,
bj
