Blue Onions & Blue Magnolias??? Gotta see this...!

Tablescape Tuesday is hosted by the very talented Susan (aka Moonlight and Magnolias on RMS) at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/. Her tablescapes are works of art. Please check her site for other Tablescape Tuesday participants...

Today I am using a set of J & G Meakin "Blue Onion" pattern china purchased at an estate sale for $15. a few years ago. It has 8 plates, 8 cups, 7 saucers, 8 salad or dessert plates, only 3 cereal bowls, and the creamer & sugar bowl. It has been used over the years but is in pretty good shape for its age. Also, I'm using a quilted blue & white toile table runner and embroidered napkins.

What?? You've never seen a blue magnolia...well, you have now.

The charger I'm using is actually an enamel plate that I have a set of and use in another tablescape setting...

Then just for fun, I switched the charger to a dark blue plate and put a (faux) iris in a bud vase...

Here is a closer look....

~~Thanks for coming by today and here's hoping you have a happy one! ~~

Love the classic blue/white table. I really like the first charger plate.

I have some of those dishes, though not nearly as many as you do. I am always on the lookout for them, but they are difficult to find in my area of the country (MI).

Wow, Bo! Both of your tablescapes are wonderful. I love Blue Onion, and I especially like it with the checked chargers.

I love your tablescape this morning... The blue & white in any design is always an elegant look in my opinion. In my collection of antiques I have only a few of the dessert plates in those patterns. If I ever get another house I would love to aquire an intire set. Beautiful settings this morning.

Lovely tablescape. Such nice dishes you have. You ladies have inspired me to check out thrift stores to maybe add to my dishes. I don't know if I have what it takes to make a nice tablescape. Maybe I will try sometime.

Hi Bo! Very pretty! I love blue. I would want to change the colors in my kitchen to blue but, I would have to change everything so I'm stuck with green but I love green the most! Deb

Blue and white tablescapes always look so pretty and fresh, and yours is no exception. Love your mixture of dishes. The dark blue rim of the plate used as a charger just sets off your place setting. Laurie a/k/a bargainhunr

I wasn't familiar with the "Blue Onion" china pattern. In my area, the onion that is acclaimed, is the Vidalia onion. It would be sooo good served up on your beautiful dishes.

Good morning, Bo girl...
I noticed you listen to the Golden Oldies on your car radio...ME, TOO. Guess there's nothing like the music we loved when we were young....and I listened to it ALL the time when I was a teen. I still listen to music. My radio in the bath stays on most of the time..I love getting some good music on, light a few candles, have a glass of Blackberry wine, climb into a nice, hot bath and just get so relaxed I can barely get out of the tub !! I stumble to bed and fall asleep almost before my head hits the pillow.....
