Tablescape Tuesday is hosted by the very talented Susan (aka Moonlight and Magnolias on RMS) at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/. Her tablescapes are works of art. Please check her site for other Tablescape Tuesday participants...

Today I am using a set of J & G Meakin "Blue Onion" pattern china purchased at an estate sale for $15. a few years ago. It has 8 plates, 8 cups, 7 saucers, 8 salad or dessert plates, only 3 cereal bowls, and the creamer & sugar bowl. It has been used over the years but is in pretty good shape for its age. Also, I'm using a quilted blue & white toile table runner and embroidered napkins.
What?? You've never seen a blue magnolia...well, you have now.
The charger I'm using is actually an enamel plate that I have a set of and use in another tablescape setting...

Then just for fun, I switched the charger to a dark blue plate and put a (faux) iris in a bud vase...

Love the classic blue/white table. I really like the first charger plate.
I have some of those dishes, though not nearly as many as you do. I am always on the lookout for them, but they are difficult to find in my area of the country (MI).
Oh, I adore this lovely table, Bo...it is just breathtaking and I wanna come over and have dinner with you sometime!
love, bj
Hey.... I thought I was the only one allowed to get all of the bargains! Holy cow, only fifteen dollars? Waaaaaa...I want those! Gorgeous and you can really work those plates, girl. Now....what's for dinner?!?
Wow, Bo! Both of your tablescapes are wonderful. I love Blue Onion, and I especially like it with the checked chargers.
I love your tablescape this morning... The blue & white in any design is always an elegant look in my opinion. In my collection of antiques I have only a few of the dessert plates in those patterns. If I ever get another house I would love to aquire an intire set. Beautiful settings this morning.

I like how you got "blue monday" and "tablescape Tuesday" into one beautiful post! Smart girl...and what a pretty table!
Your table setting is beautiful! I have never seen a blue magnolia...actually havent seen too many "real" magnolias in my life..(from the cold north ya'know). Thank you for visiting my blog, I cant believe you had those dishes too!...I see that you are a "resident" of Blogville! It is going to be so much fun!.. take care ~Cindy~/Pam Tanna
I love you have the time and plates and stuff to do this! I have 2 settings, the everyday ones and the plain white I use for special occasions;) French
Oooooh, I just love blue! Just beautiful!
Bo, your Blue onion dishes are lovely. They are beautiful in your tablescapes. I love the blue magnolia and the dishes you are using as a charger. You are an artist at setting a beautiful table. The table runner is the perfect accent.
Hugs, Jeanne
Lovely tablescape. Such nice dishes you have. You ladies have inspired me to check out thrift stores to maybe add to my dishes. I don't know if I have what it takes to make a nice tablescape. Maybe I will try sometime.
The blue & white are beautiful together...always a classic combo and throw in a little toile...ahhhh...glorious! lol Have agreat day sweetie!
Gotta love the blue and white--you can never go wrong!! I think I made a teapot fountain out of the Blue Onion pattern--didn't know that was the name until now!
You did a marvelous job--love the 'charger' idea!!
Thanks for visiting!!
Another gorgeous tablescape! Have a happy day, Bo! :)

Hi Bo! Very pretty! I love blue. I would want to change the colors in my kitchen to blue but, I would have to change everything so I'm stuck with green but I love green the most! Deb
Those dishes were a bargain. I love that pattern, and you have done it proud with that tablescape!! Sally

Blue and white tablescapes always look so pretty and fresh, and yours is no exception. Love your mixture of dishes. The dark blue rim of the plate used as a charger just sets off your place setting. Laurie a/k/a bargainhunr
That is some of the prettiest blue & white china I ever did see! It looks great both ways. You sure did get a great deal. ~ Robyn
I wasn't familiar with the "Blue Onion" china pattern. In my area, the onion that is acclaimed, is the Vidalia onion. It would be sooo good served up on your beautiful dishes.
Oh my goodness....love the toile... and the checkered plate adds some whimsy.. great tablescape... hugs ~lynne~ aka

Hi Bo...
Thanks for the prayers...I'm doing much better than I thought I would be doing after the Dentist yesterday!

Good morning, Bo girl...
I noticed you listen to the Golden Oldies on your car radio...ME, TOO. Guess there's nothing like the music we loved when we were young....and I listened to it ALL the time when I was a teen. I still listen to music. My radio in the bath stays on most of the time..I love getting some good music on, light a few candles, have a glass of Blackberry wine, climb into a nice, hot bath and just get so relaxed I can barely get out of the tub !! I stumble to bed and fall asleep almost before my head hits the pillow.....
Thank you so much for your warm comments today on Susan's post! It really made me feel kinda extra special today!:-) It is much appreciated~~thank you again! Tomarie/Laura
Hi Bo
I saw you comment on Rhoda's blog and thought I'd stop by for a visit. I love your tablescape. What a deal on the blue onion dinnerware! I love blue and white china also. I'll be right over for dinner, or a cup of tea would be fine.
Rhondi
Thanks for the visit today...I'm feeling very good today. Mouth is a bit sore still, but I'm able to eat!!!

Jan
ps...can't wait til the tea party either!!!
Bo, Your place settings are absolutely beautiful. I am having a very busy week but am trying to find the time to visit and (hopefully) post. We are preparing for my in-laws' estate sale on Saturday. I'm trying to do some catch up. Hopefully, I'll have time to post tomorrow.
Sweetie
I never think of blue and white on my own. Then, when I see something so lovely...I think hmmmmm....I need to keep that color combination in mind. So pretty and fresh.
Hi Bo, You tablescapes are both beautiful and inspiring. Kathy
Hey there Bo!
Lovely setting. When should we all expect our invites? LOL I have had these dishes in the store and they fly off the shelves because they are so classic and beautiful.
