It's Tablescape Tuesday again hosted by Susan at BETWEEN NAPS ON THE PORCH and please visit her fabulous blog for a list of other participants in this fun event!
*
*
*
*
Today I have set up a luncheon tablescape in my breakfast nook using a hodge-podge of this 'n that which I realize could have qualified me for Diane's Trash To Treasure at A Picture is Worth a 1,000 Words....be sure and check out her blog too...
**
*
Here's a little closer view of a place setting...
**
*
I hope the tablescape police doesn't come & get me, because I see the wrong side of the napkin is showing the hem...oops, but the napkin ring is a ceramic Christmas tree picked up at a garage sale several years ago....
**
*
I tilted this salad plate to try to avoid so much glare...we picked up 40 of these at Target's Dollar bin a few years ago for a party we had....
**
*
Okay, now this set of dishes is a service for 8 and I just bought them at my favorite thrift store Saturday for $10....They're nothing fancy and I sure didn't NEED them but I love the octagonal shape... sorry about the glare...a photographer I'm not!
**
*
Even the cup & saucer is octagonal
**
*
I liked how the design on this candle mimicked the design on the dessert plates... I did light it but it smothered out before I could get the picture taken...
**
*
I just had to show you these pretty little cardinal plates...I got 12 for $6. at another thrift store and they still had the original price on the bottom of each for $1.99
**
*
And this crocheted tablecloth that someone must have spent hours & hours making, I also got at an estate sale Saturday for $3... I can never understand how people can think so little of their family's things to let them go for nothing...sad...
Thanks for stopping by my bargain tablescape today!♥♥♥♥♥

Great job finding all those bargains. Isn't that half the fun?!
Barbara Jean
What a cute tablescape you have here. Love the octagon plates, and that tablecloth is gorgeous. And such bargains! You've got the touch. Kudos from a fellow Texan. Come visit our little town when you get a chance, we just had our annual Christmas stroll and it was so much fun. Kathy
Good morning Bo, I want a thrift store like yours. I want a Good Will to open up here. Everything is so festive and the dishes are darling. I should take a lesson from you. A gorgeous tablescape for little money. You go girl. What hem!!! smiling.
Christmas love...Jeanne
What a great use of all your bargains.
I do love those cardinal plates!
What bargains you have found in your travels. You put them all together - just like an artist chooses the right colors for the picture. Really love the octagon shape on those dishes.
Have a great Blessed week.
Amelia - from up North of you.
I'm with you Bo...how can they get rid of something like that tablecloth? Love the Santa plates, the Spode-ish looking thrift store finds, and the cardinal plates are so pretty. One of my favorite things are the tree napkin rings, but IT'S ALL GOOD!
Hi Bo...
Well, first off...I never feel sad that family members don't think much of pretty crocheted things, ESPECIALLY when they let them go for so little $$$...cuz I will buy them and LOVE them!! LOL!!!
I love your tablescapes and see you like Cardinals, too!
~Blessings,
Jan
Your table is so pretty Bo. I especially love your red bird plates!
Smiles,
Carol
Fabulous table, Bo!
You have those Nikko dishes, I love! Don't have those, yet...I am such a dish addict! You got a great deal on them.
Now I am going to have to keep looking at the $1 bin at Target for dishes. I always stop there on the way in to shop. Never know what wonderful goodies we will find. I love your salad plates.
Bo, just don't be surprised if you wake up one day and those cardinal plates are gone. Just kidding - they are so pretty.
I love the crochet tablecloth too. You are a great thrift shopper!!
OMGosh, Bo...this is one of my very favorite of your table settings...I love the mix and match, as you know. I haven't bought even ONE plate or cup or dish at all this whole season. i have dishes running out my ears but....BUT....if i find such cute ones at such good prices as YOU...I will buy them...FOR SURE!
love, bj
I love those cardinal plates! And the Santa plates...too cute!
Most of my tables are comprised of thrift store finds too. *giving you a high five!*
Happy Tablescape Tuesday!
Wow Bo, you sure have some wonderful, thrifted finds there. I can't believe some of the items people get rid of ~ including that beautiful hand crochet tablecloth.

Bo I just love your Christmas luncheon table, and the fact that it's all made of "treasures" that you found makes me love it even more! I agree with you about seeing family heirlooms being just about given away sometimes...but how nice that this cloth can grace your Christmas table!
Ok, I'm convinced I need a tutor to take me thrift shopping, I rarely go and when I do all I see is junk. I'm not doing something right. Your table is simply beautiful . One of my favorite birds is a cardinal and to have it grace your luncheon table is a wonderful thing. And also, I do believe you are obsessed with collecting dishes. LOL
Love Ya,
Chris
What beautiful treasures you found.. I love their unique shapes..Your cardinal plates are out of this world...hugs ~lynne~
Beautiful! I am in love with your cardinal plates.
Amazing tablescape! :)
Every single one of them is beautiful! You're so talented at everything you do!
Morning Bo,
I LOVE your tablescape. Those Santa plates are so cute as well as the trees and cardinals! It all blends so well to make a BEAUTIFUL table. I am glad you "rescued" that beautiful crocheted tablecloth...it is perfect!
LOVELY!!!!! Bo, you are a very talented lady. I wish I were invited to your lunch! I have to leave my house way early to arrive on time...heehee. I like the tablecloth and just LOVE the red cardinal bird plates!!!!!!! Tell us what will you serve on these lovely plates!!!! CHEERS!! Michele
I do believe there is more than $3.00 in the cost of the thread alone, in that wonderful table covering. And I can see, they didn't skimp on the size either, that is a generous overhang.
Really love the way you have set up your snow village nearby on what looks like a window seat.
I like the way you were able to put everything together.
Thanks for ocming by for a visit.
You are so right about making a mess when we try to contol things. Why am i so slow to learn that?
Love your little saying "life can change in the blink of an eye,but fear not, for God never blinks!"
Blessings on your day.
Barbara Jean
HI Bo!
I have a complete set of Christmas tree Nikko dishes, too! They may be nothing "fancy" but we bought them at retail for quite a bit of $ over the years -- every year my husband would buy me a few more pieces to add to my collection -- so you got a real bargain at the thrift store at a service of 8 for $10!! I think one cup and saucer cost us twice that amount.
I wish there were thrift stores near me but I bet there would be nothing good like that in them --lol
Hugs, Pat
Bo, you gotta try that lotion; it is just to die for.
blossom
Love your tablescape.
Hi BO! I'm with you! I think that is the saddest thing that that beautiful tablecloth went for $3. Good thing you were there to save it! My Christmas dishes are the same as yours only round. Those little cardinal plates add just the perfect blend. Because trees have to have birds! : )
~Liz

Hi Bo! Love the tablecloth and the cardinal plates. I am one who loves bargains and appreciates wonderful finds. You are a master! :0)
Bo, LOVED your tablescape. Those cardinals are my favorite. I went to a little shop while I was in town today and saw what was probably the prettiest tree I've ever seen. I just stood and stared at it! It had lots of large berries on it, and all sorts of birds and some medium sized rustic birdhouses. I wanted to take a picture, but didn't.

The tablecloth is amazing! You got a steal of a deal. That is sad that it was only $3 for all the hard work that went into it!
Good morning Bo, I have been up for an hour. The wind and rain is loud this morning. Even my dog is still asleep. Just wishing you a happy day. :)

Hey sweetie.. just got home from painting and fauxing a gal's diningroom.. she had some of the cutest Christmas dishes and wasn't going to use them...silly, silly girl... before I left she had them displayed with a bit of tweaking here and there and had a huge smile on her face...good thing.. I so wanted to put them in my back pocket and bring them home...I was a good girl and left them for her to enjoy... :-)
hugs ~lynne~

I love your sweet new header picture too ... how precious!
Sincerely,
Janie
Oh I've been hoping I'd get to see some of your Christmas dishes. You have the most beautiful collections I've ever seen. And once again, I wasn't disappointed at all. They must be so fun to make combinations with. I love how the candles work with the leaves on the plates and all those other beautiful little details as you mentioned.
You're a lucky lady!
Katie
Wow, your thrift stores have some real treasures!! I can never find anything like that!
Suzanne
Very pretty! I have those Nikko dishes too...they were my mother-in-law's and she gave them to me before she passed away. I think my sisters in law paid a good amount for the service for 12, which they purchased over the years. Also, my mother has service for 20 of the cardinals-dinner plates, dessert plates, soup bowls and coffee mugs. My brothers and I bought them for her a few years ago for her December birthday!
