Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
A house becomes a home when you can write "I love you"
on the furniture.

I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure everything
was perfect in case someone came over. Finally, I realized one day that
no one came over; they were out living life and having fun!

Now when people visit, I don't have to explain the "condition" of my home...
They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing while I was
away living life and having fun!! If you haven't figured this out yet, please
heed this advice: Life is short. Enjoy it!

Dust if you must, but

wouldn't it be better to paint a picture or.....

write a letter,
bake cookies or a cake and

lick the spoon or

plant a seed, and

ponder the difference between want & need?

Dust if you must, but there's not much time.....

with trails to ride bikes on,

rivers to swim,

mountains to climb,
music to hear,

books to read,

friends to cherish,
and a life to lead.

Dust if you must but the world's out there

with the sun in your eyes,

the wind in your hair,

a flutter of snow,

a shower of rain...this day will never
come around again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind....

old age will come and it's not kind...and when
you go---and go you must---

you, yourself will make more
DUST!
It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived~

Funny but true! I think I keep cleaning for company that never comes over too!
I hope my post didn't upset you today. I had no idea. I am SO sorry for your loss!! I can not even imagine. I have been crying for this family because I know how I would feel if it had been my son and daughter in that car. (Oldest daughter doesn't live at home. She was married last month). It's a grief beyond words I'm sure. While my twin and I have suffered loses (parents, nephew, friend, brother, etc.)) I can not imagine a child. SO SORRY.
I'm with you. Life is toooooo short to be obsessed with cleaning!!!
Blessings,
Sher
Hello Bo, What a lovely post today, you are so right, I used to dust all the time but it kept coming right back, I still do it now but not so often, have a lovely day, hugs, Kathy.
Great post! I don't feel so bad about that dust now!
Words to live by!!! lol
Thank you for all of your lovely notes on my blog...it is so nice to meet new friends :)

Soooo funny and SOOOO true.
I learned all this the minute I became a grandmother. I can't count the times I NEEDED to clean house but took a grandchild to the park to play, feed the ducks and fish. The times we've gone to the movies during the day, on a week day. The times we simply PLAYED..
Oh, yes, I have learned that my house cleaning is on the VERY BOTTOM OF MY IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO LIST.
Have a fabulous, non-dusting day...
love, bj
True! But oh, if I could only turn things around in my mind! For me it works the other way around: I have to have a clean house to be able to enjoy life :)
May the sun shine upon you today!
Hugs,
cielo

Well, to answer your question, Mr. Precious does not call me Mrs. Precious, but he thinks I am precious! How's that?

Dear sweet BO, you have been so faithful with your encouraging comments. I appreciate it so much.
This post is a classic! Our youth and energy should never be wasted with dusting all the time. Better to go and have some fun. The dust will always be there, Our youth will not, and, or, OUR KNEES! smile.
Love and hugs...Jeanne
Beautiful post Bo :)
I think my mom should read this LOL
hugs,
rue
I wish I had read this earlier; I just finished dusting (but Roomba vacuumed). So, now that the house is sorta clean, you and Sonny can come visit!
